Teacher vs Mentor

I believe mentoring is just as important as teaching. A teacher is more than an agent that delivers knowledge, but also a trustworthy companion who provides enlightenment, support, and guidance to the learner’s life, which goes way beyond textbook knowledge.

Students are active learners.

I have substantial teaching experience on different educational levels and to people with different cultural backgrounds. Through many years of teaching, I believe learning is more effective when one actively explains their knowledge to others.

University level

I have been teaching as a lecturer for Cultural Psychology at undergraduate level since 2018.

I also served as teaching assistant not only for psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, but also for interdisciplinary courses, such as a course titled China Today.

School level

As an active learner of foreign languages, I started teaching the Chinese language at local school No.11 Gymnasium for children and at an adult learning center. In both positions, I developed lesson plans and tailored materials to students’ ages and backgrounds.

Beyond the classroom, I guided five of my students from the gymnasium to the Chinese Bridge competition for children, where they won the second and third prizes.
